Russians are opening MLRS fire from the Zaporizhzhia NPP site
A video featuring the Russian multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) opening fire from the site of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was released online.
The Insider reported that the video of Russian artillery was filmed during the night of September 2nd to 3rd.
The footage captures the Russian multiple-launch rocket system being in the immediate vicinity of the power unit. The smokestacks of the Zaporizhzhia Thermal Power Plant are also visible.
The video is being filmed from the opposite bank of the Dnipro River and the camera is pointing to the south.
“This means that the location of the MLRS launch is to the west of the Zaporizhzhia TPP. The site of the NPP is west of the TPP, but it is impossible to say for a fact whether the missiles are being really launched from the plant site,” Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT) experts said.
The Russian military is constantly shelling power transmission lines to disconnect the plant from the Ukrainian grid.
The Russian invasion forces are hoping to then connect it to the Russian grid.
On September 1, the International Atomic Energy Agency delegation arrived at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. In just a few hours, four out of the nine vehicles of the delegation left the territory of the facility.
Rafael Grossi, Head of the Organization, claimed that during the initial tour of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, he inspected key areas, but “there is still a lot of work to be done.”
The IAEA recorded physical damage on the territory of the station and the difficult working conditions of Ukrainian specialists who are forced to “coexist” with the invaders.
Also, on September 1, resulting from the shelling of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, the operating 5th power unit was shut down, and the 330 kV reserve power supply line of the Zaporizhzhia NPP’s own needs was also damaged.
On September 2, Enerhoatom announced that power unit № 5 of the Zaporizhzhia NPP was again connected to the power grid.
