Russia is trying to create a two million people army – Defence Intelligence
According to the estimates of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Russia is trying to create an army of two million people.
The news was made public on the official page of the Defence Intelligence on social media.
Ukraine’s Intelligence has grounds to believe that Russia is actively preparing for the announcement of another wave of mobilization.
Defence Intelligence analysts conclude that the scale of the mobilization measures carried out by the aggressor country indicates the plans of its leadership to create an army numbering about two million people.
According to them, the Russian leadership is likely to announce another wave of mobilization in the coming days. Another 500,000 Russians will join the armed forces, allowing the terrorist country to create strategic reserves.
At the legislative level, changes are being made to the laws regulating mobilization in Russia. An active preparation of training centers is also underway.
Thus, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation has canceled the clause on postponement of mobilization for parents of large families with three children. This was announced by the head of the Russian State Duma Committee on Family Affairs, Nina Ostanina, representing the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.
According to Irina Kirkora, a member of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights, the document on the cancellation of the postponement, signed by Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, was submitted to the military commissariats at the end of December. A member of the Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights learned about this from a conversation with a representative of the General Staff.
Besides, on January 13, the State Duma announced military training for Russians over the age of 30 who have not served before and are in the reserve. They will be involved in military trainings after the adoption of the law on changing the age for army conscription. This was stated by a member of the Russian State Duma Committee on Defense, Lieutenant General Viktor Sobolev.
“Those who are older than 30 years will be involved in military trainings, so there they will acquire a military accounting specialty and not be cannon fodder. For this, a lot needs to be done, including that we must have a trained mobilization reserve,” Sobolev explained.
Previously, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu instructed to change the age of conscription for military service. On his initiative, Russians from 21 to 30 years of age will be sent to the army (previously it was 18-27). Russian President Vladimir Putin supported this proposal.
The new conscription system can be applied as early as the spring of 2023. However, the age of conscription for military service will be from 18 to 30 years. That is, Russians who have not served until the age of 27 are expected to be called for military service if they have not yet turned 30.
