Rostec announces transfer of new batch of Su-34s to Russian Aerospace Forces
Rostec has announced the delivery of a batch of new Su-34 fighter-bombers to the Russian Aerospace Forces.
This information was published on the corporation’s official Telegram page.
The fighter-bombers were handed over at the factory airfield of the Novosibirsk Chkalov Aviation Plant, part of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC).
The exact number of aircraft in this batch has not been officially disclosed. However, analysis of photo and video footage suggests that at least two pieces of equipment were transferred.
The footage tried to focus on one aircraft, but the visible details indicate the presence of another aircraft in the same shipment.
In addition, it is worth noting that the transfer did not take place in November 2024, as it may seem, but earlier. This is confirmed by the absence of snow on the airfield, while snow has been on the ground since early November.
Probably, the published photos and videos belong to the previously transferred batch, but are shown from a different angle for propaganda purposes.
With this batch, the Russian Aerospace Forces has received a total of 9 newly built Su-34 aircraft since the beginning of 2024.
The previous delivery of the fighter-bombers took place in September 2024, which was the third batch. Two months later, a new, fourth batch was delivered, which is likely to be the last in 2024.
Due to the large losses of Su-34 fighter-bombers in the war against Ukraine, UAC CEO Yuriy Slyusar said that the plant was seeking to increase production, as all UAC plants involved in the fulfillment of the state defense order were not slowing down production.
Prior to this transfer, the plant’s capacity allowed it to transfer two aircraft of this type once a quarter, which partially replaces the lost aircraft that the enemy is actively using.
In addition to increasing production of Su-34 fighter-bombers, the production of Su-35 and Su-57 fighters is also expected to ramp up.
They are manufactured at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, which is also part of the United Aircraft Corporation.
