118th Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces received mortars from the Come Back Alive Foundation
The 118th Brigade of the Territorial Defense Forces (TDF) received the mortar sets from the Come Back Alive Foundation.
Weapons and equipment were transferred to the military within the “LONG HANDS for TDF” project.
Mortars will increase the combat capabilities of the Ukrainian Territorial Defense and help fight the Russian invaders more effectively.
On Tuesday, August 1, the press service of the 118th Brigade of the TDF reported that it already has received the “long hands.”
The brigade’s gunners received 120mm mortars, vehicles, walkie-talkies, quadcopters, and other equipment for the mortar battery from the Come Back Alive Foundation.
“We thank the volunteers for the capability to destroy the invaders from a greater distance from now on. The Russian soldiers will soon feel all the rage of the Cherkasy TDF brigade,” – the message shared.
In April, Militarnyi reported that the first three Territorial Defense Brigades received all the necessary equipment for the formation of reconnaissance and strike systems with 120mm mortars within the “LONG HANDS for TDF” project.
As part of the project, each brigade receives vehicles, mortars, communications, and surveillance equipment, along with other related equipment for mortar batteries.
“LONG HANDS for TDF” project
The project to create reconnaissance and strike systems with 120mm mortars in the TDF brigades was launched in December 2022. Fundraising was organized separately for each region, with one set of equipment costing more than UAH 10 million.
To purchase six 120mm mortars and auxiliary equipment for each territorial defense brigade, Come Back Alive finished collecting UAH 333 million in March. In early April, the completion of the production of the first batch of mortars was reported.
Each TDF brigade will receive a set from the Foundation, which includes:
six 120 mm mortars;
three pickups;
14 Motorola radios;
nine night vision monoculars (gen 3);
three copters;
three Starlinks;
eight special tablets;
three generators;
three inverters;
three binoculars.
In total, the project covers about 186 120mm mortars and 93 SUVs, which are necessary to operate such mortar groups. The TDF Command, for its part, must also provide seven trucks for each battery to transport mortars and unit property.
