36th Marine Brigade repels Russian assault in the Kursk oblast
Soldiers of the 36th Marine Brigade successfully repelled an attempted assault by Russian troops in the Kursk oblast.
The brigade’s press service published a video capturing the defeat of enemy assault groups on its Facebook page.
Thanks to the coordinated work of aerial reconnaissance, it was possible to detect an offensive group of the Russian military moving toward the positions of Ukrainian marines in time.
During the assault, the enemy engaged several infantry units and three infantry fighting vehicles to support them.
The enemy’s first loss was one of the three infantry fighting vehicles, which was destroyed by an FPV drone with the crew and troops inside.
Two other infantry fighting vehicles were able to land the assault teams, who took cover in the forest.
Some Russian soldiers found shelter under a bridge and began to come out after the ceasefire but were detected and attacked by a drone.
In general, the enemy suffered significant losses during this assault and repeatedly tried to capture the positions of the marines of the 36th Marine Brigade.
Militarnyi previously reported that the 36th Marine Brigade and 1st Tank Brigade soldiers fought off a Russian assault in the Kursk oblast.
To defend the positions, the soldiers of the 1st Tank Brigade and the 36th Marine Brigade worked closely together to destroy enemy equipment and personnel.
Three enemy infantry fighting vehicles moved toward the positions of the Ukrainian military, two of which were blown up by mines, and the third managed to drive directly to the positions where the enemy assault group landed.
After the assault group landed, the Russian IFV started to return to its positions but was successfully destroyed by the soldiers of the 36th Marine Brigade using a Javelin anti-tank system.
