The 3rd Assault Brigade liberated a village in the Kharkiv region from Russian invaders and captured the Russian fighters who had seized it.

The brigade’s press service reported on this.

The soldiers of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade liberated the village of Kopanky, where the invaders had stormed in the Kharkiv region.

In addition to successfully clearing the enemy forces that had been there for three days, the brigade’s fighters managed to capture seven captured occupants from the 1st Tank Army of the Russian Armed Forces.

Most of them are mobilized convicts, the rest are those who joined the army from under investigation and were charged with violent crimes or drug trafficking.

A battalion commander with the call sign “Var” said that during the capture of the village, the Russian 152mm artillery system had begun to cover his soldiers.

The brigade reported that as of now, Kopanky village is under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine thanks to the actions of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Battalion, namely the 3rd Mechanized Company “Karakurt Colony”.

The recapture of the village should stop the Russian wedge into the defense in this direction, the depth of which at the time of the occupation reached 6-7 kilometers.

Two weeks earlier, the 2nd Mechanized Battalion conducted an operation in this direction, as a result of which more than three dozen invaders were neutralized.

The assault groups of the 3rd Manticore Platoon and 2nd Decepticon Platoon ambushed the Russian forces, launching them into the prepared area of the front line. Within three days, 39 Russian soldiers were killed in the killzone.

For the operation, the soldiers prepared dug-in firing positions and barbed wire obstacles to restrict enemy movement.

As previously reported, Nazarii Kishak, commander of a consolidated unit of the 153rd Mechanized Brigade, reported that North Korean troops fighting on the side of Russia had been spotted in the Kharkiv direction of the frontline.
