3rd Brigade soldiers captured Russian commander, neutralize two others
Ukrainian 3rd Separate Assault Brigade soldiers captured a commander of the Russian Alga volunteer battalion of the 72nd Separate Motor Rifle Brigade.

A Russian major with the call sign Shaitan was captured by soldiers of the second company of the second assault battalion in the Bakhmut sector.
In addition, two other commanders of the 72nd Brigade with call signs Medved and Avangard were reportedly killed in a firefight.
During the Shaitan interrogation, it turned out that in July, the commander of the 72nd Separate Motor Rifle Brigade was killed by small arms fire during an assault on the forest near Andriivka.
Other testimonies of the captured Russian commander are not made public.

Andriivka is located 10 kilometers from Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The village is part of the Ivanove district, which includes the villages of Ivanivske, Andriivka, Klishchiivka, Berkhivka and the village of Khromove.
The liberation of settlements near Bakhmut allows the Ukrainian military to continue operations on encircling the city occupied by the Russians.
