59th Motorized Brigade to be armed with Bukovel EW system
Benefactors will purchase the Bukovel electronic warfare system for the military of Ukraine.
Ukrainian journalist Yurii Butusov says that they have managed to collect 16 million hryvnias for the systems, which is slightly more than the required amount.
“Including my foundation and the Oresta Brit Foundation, we have raised almost 8 million hryvnias,” the journalist said.
It is emphasized that the Bukovel EW unit will be equipped with everything necessary and in the near future the EW station will be officially put into service with the Brigade.
The military of the 59th Motorized Infantry Brigade will receive efficient weapons to protect against Russian drones.
The Bukovel AD electronic warfare system was developed by the Ukrainian company Proximus.
The system is designed for early detection of enemy UAVs and complete blocking of data transmission and GPS/GLONASS control channels.
A key element of this solution was the ground station, consisting of detection and control modules.
In addition to jamming GPS and GLONASS control channels, the system also generates a series of false signals, which significantly increases overall performance.
According to the manufacturer, the effective range of the Bukovel EW system reaches 10-15 kilometers.
“This makes the system ideal for protecting military or civilian infrastructure in hostilities,” Proximus said.
It should be reminded that in 2021, the Ukrainian military reinforced dangerous sections of the border with the latest Bukovel-AD R4 EW system. In 2019, it was also reported that the Armed Forces of Morocco had received the Ukrainian Bukovel-AD.
