In the United States, Raytheon was fined $200 million for 750 violations of the Arms Export Control Act.

The U.S. Department of State said that employees of Raytheon Technologies (RTX) were involved in numerous illegal direct commercial sales.

In particular, this applies to unauthorized exports of defense goods.

RTX voluntarily disclosed all alleged violations and cooperated with the investigators.

Half of the fine, $100 million, will be suspended on the condition that these funds are used to strengthen Raytheon’s internal compliance program.

Colby Badhwar, a journalist for the English-language version of the Russian media Insider, published a document stating that the vast majority of violations were committed by Rockwell Collins prior to their 2018 acquisition by Raytheon.

But all RTX divisions have committed violations.

The prescribed destinations included Iran, Lebanon, Russia and the PRC.

The violations occurred between August 5, 2017 and September 29, 2023.

However, in February 2023, China imposed sanctions on the American Raytheon for selling weapons to Taiwan.

Raytheon Technologies develops and manufactures the latest technologies in the space and defense industry, including aircraft engines, avionics, cybersecurity, missiles, air defense systems, and drones.

As previously reported, Raytheon has been awarded a $478 million contract to supply GEM-T missiles to the German Patriot air defense system.
