Azov Brigade uses Croatian RAK-SA-12 MRL near New York, Ukraine
The Azov Brigade has received Croatian RAK-SA-12 rocket launchers, which it uses near New York, Ukraine.
The National Guard brigade reported that they are using the system in the Toretsk sector.
The Croatian lightweight rocket launcher has already proven to be a serious weapon for fighting off waves of enemy attacks and supporting friendly infantry.
To transport the RAK, it is enough to have a pickup truck. Its small size provides good camouflage.
The crew receives the coordinates, works for a few minutes, and the position “disappears” again, with 128mm shells flying at the enemy.
However, the range of operation – up to 8 km – forces the crew to constantly watch out for possible dangers. Such a target is a priority for all enemy weapons, from FPV drones to gliding bombs.
In the Toretsk sector, these systems are being used near the village of New York in the Donetsk region.
The Croatian RAK-12 MRL was developed in the early 1990s and is a significantly lightened version of the Yugoslav M-63 Plamen MRL.
Madlerd’s updated RAK-SA-12 rocket system is designed to fire over large areas at ranges of between 800 and 8,500 meters.
It is used to engage enemy manpower and equipment in open terrain or shelters.
The launcher can use the following types of 128mm rockets: M91, M91A1, and M91A2, equipped with РУК M92 and РУТІ M94 fuzes.
Back in 2023, Ukrainian border guards received new Croatian RAK-SA-12 128mm rocket launchers.
