Brazil will provide 300,000 shells for the German Gepard in Ukraine
The issue with ammunition for German Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled units has now been resolved.
The Militarnyi informs about it.
German Business Insider writes, citing government sources, that Brazil is ready to provide Ukraine with 300,000 shells for Gepard.
It’s a great solution for the issue because, according to German media, Kraus-Maffei Wegmann had only 23,000 shells in stock.
The day before, Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany reported on one of the TV channels that German anti-aircraft guns without ammunition would not help Ukraine.
“If the German Ministry of Defense does not purchase ammunition in the coming days, Ukraine will probably have to reject Germany’s offer,” he said.
Therefore, the publication notes that such fears of the Ukrainian ambassador should now subside.
It is assumed that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has resolved the issue of the required supplies for German anti-aircraft guns on their own.
Also, it is reported that Jordan and Qatar were requested for ammunition, but it is still not clear whether they will provide it.
We remind Germany has announced transfer of 50 Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns to Ukraine.
