British farmers transferred 38 off-road vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine
British farmers donated 38 off-road vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the Pickups for Peace initiative.
The Lviv Regional Military Administration reported on this.
A volunteer group led by British farmer Mark Laird delivered 38 off-road vehicles donated by citizens of the United Kingdom to Lviv on their own.
“In times of war, it is very important to feel the support of international partners. We thank the British volunteers for their dedication and courage, which they demonstrate not only with words but also with actions. Most of all, we want peace, and to achieve it, we need victory, which is possible only if we join forces,” Khrystyna Zamula, Deputy Head of Lviv Regional Military Administration, noted.
These off-road vehicles will be deployed to reinforce the 24th King Daniel of Galicia Separate Mechanized Brigade, the 110th Mechanized Brigade, the 150th Mechanized Brigade, and other military units.
Vehicles on the front line are one of the main elements for transporting soldiers, evacuating the wounded, and transporting provisions and ammunition.
It should be noted that this is not the first time that British farmers have donated their own off-road vehicles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as those they purchase at their own expense.
In addition to UK citizens, citizens of the United States, the Netherlands, and other countries are also participating in this campaign.
Since 2022, the Pickups for Peace initiative has delivered 400 vehicles to the Ukrainian military to help them fulfill their tasks on the front line.
“All the vehicles we receive as part of the Pickups for Peace initiative do not require any additional maintenance and are immediately ready to go to the front line. The SUVs delivered today include those needed for UAV pilots, evacuation of the wounded, and transportation of combat kits. Soon, they will be deployed to the hottest spots, including Pokrovsk, where they will reinforce our soldiers,” Andrii Kovch, combat training officer of the 2nd Galician Brigade, shared in August 2024.
In addition to the Pickups for Peace initiative, the British-Ukrainian Aid Charitable Foundation donated the vehicles to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The last such transfer took place on August 1, 2024, when volunteers transferred 20 civilian vehicles to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
