The Come Back Alive Foundation has transferred 120-mm mortars for the needs of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

The Foundation announced this on its official Facebook page.

A total of thirty-two 120-mm mortars were purchased, which covered the need for this type of weapon for the active operations units of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

UAH 32 million was spent on the purchase of new Ukrainian-made mortars.

“Mortars of this caliber can operate at a distance of up to 7 kilometers and are designed to defeat or suppress enemy forces,” the Foundation stated.

120-mm mortars are a relatively versatile weapon, as they provide direct support to troops and shell enemy positions.

Their availability gives the unit a great firepower advantage, and their small size and mobility allow for quick deployment and retraction.

This is not the first unit of the Ukrainian Defense Forces to receive weapons from the Come Back Alive Foundation.

In early April 2024, the 95th Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces received a batch of new 120-mm mortars.

The paratroopers emphasized that thanks to the Foundation, the brigade’s arsenal was replenished with seven new mortars.

“The mortar plays a significant role in the war, its compactness and mobility helps us to be always ahead, change positions, and remain invisible, while actively working on targets,” the commander of the mortar unit that received the 120-mm mortars shared.

The 140th Reconnaissance Battalion of the Ukrainian Navy also received 120-mm mortars at the end of March 2024.
