Croatia and North Macedonia are preparing new defense packages for Ukraine.
President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated this at the meetings in Athens.
In particular, during the Ukraine-Balkans summit in Athens, Zelensky met with Dimitar Kovačevski, Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia.
President Zelensky thanked the North Macedonian Prime Minister for his unwavering support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
Volodymyr Zelensky also thanked Dimitar Kovačevski for his defense support, including the preparation of a new aid package.
The leaders discussed the situation on the battlefield and the development of further defense cooperation.
The President of Ukraine also met with Andrej Plenković, Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia.
“Zelensky thanked Croatia for preparing a new defense package for Ukraine, which will contain important components,” reads the statement published on the President’s website.
Andrej Plenković said that Croatia will provide Ukraine with a new €30 million military aid package.
According to the Croatian Prime Minister, the government is to clarify the issue of aid at a meeting next Thursday, August 31.
“We have just concluded a meeting with the President of Ukraine [Volodymyr Zelensky] and once again expressed Croatia’s strong support for the Ukrainian people, the president, the government and all those who are fighting for the freedom and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” Plenković said.
In June 2023, it became known that Croatia transferred Mi-8 transport helicopters to Ukraine as part of military aid.
