Czechs donate 11 ambulances to the Ukrainian Defense Forces
The Ukrainian Defense Forces have received 11 ambulances from the Czech Post Bellum non-governmental organization.
The Ukrainian Embassy in the Czech Republic announced the delivery of the aid and published photos of the equipment.
The ambulances are equipped with the necessary medical equipment and will operate in various areas in Ukraine.
The total cost of the aid is CZK 13 million (over USD 500 thousand).
The Embassy emphasized that strengthening the Ukrainian Defense Forces in countering Russian aggression in all areas is a priority.
It is noted that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Czech Post Bellum non-governmental organization has been collecting and sending various types of assistance to the Defense Forces on an ongoing basis in coordination with the Ukrainian Embassy.
In October, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) transferred 65 ambulances to the Ukrainian Armed Forces as part of a comprehensive aid package. The vehicles were donated in response to a request for urgent needs in Ukraine.
Also, as part of the comprehensive assistance package, NATO provided military ambulances to the State Border Guard Service and the National Guard of Ukraine hospitals.
These buses are equipped with modern medical technology and equipment. They allow for the autonomous operation of resuscitation teams with three seriously wounded patients while simultaneously transporting four more lying and eight sitting patients under medical supervision.
Ukrainian technicians were successfully trained before receiving the buses. They acquired skills in operating and maintaining the buses and the equipment installed on them.
The Norwegian Defense Materiel Agency (NDMA) managed and implemented the project on behalf of the Alliance.
This NATO assistance project also provides for the maintenance of the donated medical buses for three years.
