“Edelweiss” Brigade Destroys Russian IFVs in Siverskyi sector
Ukrainian infantry of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss” repelled a massive Russian assault involving armored vehicles in the Donetsk region.
The 10th Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss” stated they managed to inflict significant losses on the Russian invaders.
“Between 15 and 25 invaders were killed. Five units of equipment were destroyed,” the military said.
The Russian command sent a significant number of infantry and BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicles with 765-SB3KDZ kits to the assault.
The 765-SB3KDZ additional protection kit consists of polymer panels to protect the vehicle from large-caliber machine gun fire, as well as a set of anti-cumulative ‘grilles’.
During the battle, the Ukrainian military managed to destroy some of these armored vehicles.
The battle took place in the Siverskyi sector of the Donetsk region. The Russian invaders launched an assault from the area of the occupied village of Vesele and tried to break through Ukrainian positions.
Previously, the commander of the BARNI unit of the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss” said that the enemy was attacking mainly with infantry.
“The Russian troops in the Siverskyi sector, as well as in other sectors, try to carry out assault actions of various kinds every day. Mostly, the assaults involve Russian infantry,” the soldier said.
According to him, the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss” has been in the Siverskyi sector for two years now, and the brigade took up its positions in September 2022.
As previously reported, the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss” received a batch of Darts attack drones, which should strengthen combat capabilities in this sector.
These loitering munitions of the Ukrainian manufacturer travel at a speed of 160 km per hour and can be equipped with a warhead weighing 4 kilograms.
