Edelweiss brigade showcased elimination of Russian brigade commander call sign Tashkent
Mountain Assault Brigade infantrymen showcased footage of the elimination of Russian brigade commander Denis Ivanov, known by the call sign Tashkent.
The elimination video was shown by the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss”.
The Tashkent commander was killed, according to Russian media, after a kamikaze drone attack on his car in the Luhansk region.
The released video from the Ukrainian military also showed an FPV-drone strike on a car.
“And who killed “Tashkent”? We show a video of the work of our kamikaze drone,” the soldiers of the 108th Mountain Battalion commented on their video.
Ivanov, whom Kremlin propaganda called the “legendary brigade commander,” was in charge of the 123rd Motorized Rifle Brigade of Russia.
This brigade was created from Russian terrorists who had been operating as a group since 2014 in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region.
For his role in the war against Ukraine, Ivanov was nominated for the title of “Hero of Russia,” but he did not receive it during his lifetime.
Previously, the invader led the so-called “2nd Brigade” of the so-called “LPR” formed in 2014.
The brigade, after the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine in early 2023, became part of the Russian invasion army and received number 123.
Russian propagandists claim that under the leadership of Tashkent, the invasion forces participated in the battles for Lysychansk, Severodonetsk and Rubizhne.
In July 2023, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated Russian Lieutenant General Oleg Tsokov. He was deputy commander of the Southern Military District.
