Explosions targeted area near Sokil plant in Nova Kakhovka

Photos and videos featuring the explosions at the Sokil plant in the city of Nova Kakhovka were published online.

Local residents say that there were several “hits” on the territory of the plant.

It is reported that there was a Russian EW on the territory of the plant, though this information can’t be confirmed yet.

Local residents also noted that the hits happened near the territory of the plant.

The Sokil plant in Nova Kakhovka operated until 2013, after which the territory of the plant was used for commercial activities. The offices of various companies were located in the administrative buildings.

Serhii Khlan, deputy of the Kherson Regional Council, reported on his Facebook page that the Ukrainian servicemen hit the headquarters of the invaders.

“Although the propagandists write that their ‘air defense system’ was clearly heard, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck Russians in Nova Kakhovka. Ours hit the headquarters that the Russians had set up at the Sokil factory,” he wrote.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the Russian air defense system “worked perfectly.” The invaders reported that a missile of the Tochka-U system was shot down in the air in the area of Nova Kakhovka.

The grouping of troops “Kakhovka” reported that there was information about the transfer of the command staff of the Russian troops together with their families to the right bank of the Dnipro River.

“It is known that the commanders of the “famous” 83rd Guards Air Assault Brigade and 11th Guards Air Assault Brigade, together with their families, are gradually moving to the right bank of the Dnipro River to a safer place. This also applies to the local collaborators, who will look for a better life elsewhere, but not in the Kherson region. Is this another step of goodwill from the Russians? Maybe they understood what awaits them in the future,” Grouping of troops “Kakhovka” reported.

As previously reported, on the night of August 27-28, explosions took place in Kherson on the territory of penal colony № 90.

According to local residents, the Russians set up their base on the territory of the penal colony.
