Militarnyi informs about this.
President of Finland Sauli Niinisto supported the government’s decision to provide additional military assistance to Ukraine, said the country’s Defense Ministry.
“At the proposal of the Government, the President Sauli Niinisto decided today, April 19, 2022, that Finland will be sending more defense equipment assistance to Ukraine,” reads the statement.
The Defense Ministry has not disclosed details about the content of the assistance, means of delivery, or schedule of its arrival.
“There will be no additional information on the content, means of delivery, or schedule of its arrival,” said the Finnish Ministry of Defense.
According to the local media, decisions on providing the previous batches of military aid to Ukraine were made in late February and late March.
This batch of the additional military assistance has taken into account both the needs of Ukraine and the resource situation of the Finnish Defense Forces.
Previously, the leaders of the United States and Great Britain announced the transfer of additional artillery to Ukraine.
Also, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that Canada would be sending “heavy artillery” to Ukraine. He noted that this was a personal request of Volodymyr Zelensky and promised to provide more details later.
