Fire in the Bryansk region: UAV attack on Druzhba oil pipeline station reported
On the night of January 30, the Bryansk region of Russia was attacked by drones, and witnesses heard explosions followed by fires.
The Russian Telegram channel Mash claims that the attack was on the Novozybkov oil pumping station of the Druzhba pipeline.
Video and photos of the fire were published by the Supernova+ Telegram channel, one of which was analyzed by Rocket Man (@Grimm_Intel), who found out that the fire occurred in the area where the oil pumping station is located.
This facility belongs to the Russian company Transneft, responsible for oil transportation through Russia.
The Novozybkov oil pumping station, near the village of Mamay in the Bryansk region, is the last on the Druzhba pipeline before the border with Belarus. Through this pipeline, oil travels to Europe, among other places.
There is currently no information about the victims. There are also no official comments from the regional authorities.
Only the Ministry of Defense of the aggressor country reported the alleged downing of two drones at night in the Bryansk region.
Previous strikes
Russia has previously already announced a strike on this oil pumping station on December 30, 2024, with Peklo missile drones developed and produced by the Ukrainian military industry.
Information about this weapon is currently limited, and from what is known, the maximum range is over 700 kilometers, and the speed can reach 700 km/h.
The invaders also claim that since the beginning of the large-scale aggression against Ukraine, the facility has been regularly attacked, for example, in March 2023, company representative Igor Demin told the Russian propaganda agency TASS that explosives were found on its territory.
He then stated that the company had noticed an explosive device being dropped from a UAV near the station. He added that investigations are underway, and there was no damage or injuries.
On February 1, 2023, the company also reported an alleged attempt by the Ukrainian Defense Forces to shell the station.
