France to Transfer Armored Vehicles and MICA Missiles for Mirage Jet Fighter to Ukraine

France has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth €2 billion.

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the package would include missiles and armored vehicles.

According to him, this support is intended to directly address the urgent needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This package includes, for example, MILAN anti-tank missiles and MICA air-to-air missiles, which arm the Mirage 2000 jet fighter jets.

The MICA “dual-purpose” missile (short/medium range) is designed to intercept and destroy highly maneuverable enemy aircraft, both manned and unmanned.

The package includes Mistral air defense missiles, as well as equipment that will help Ukraine strengthen its mechanized units: VAB and AMX-10RX armored vehicles.

“These also include ammunition, including remotely controlled munitions. Additionally, this involves equipment production in Ukraine through partnership relations with our defense companies,” Emmanuel Macron noted.

The VAB armored personnel carrier is one of the foreign models the Ukrainian Defense Forces already used on the battlefield against Russian invaders.

Meanwhile, the AMX-10RC is a French armored fighting vehicle, also referred to as a wheeled tank or tank hunter.

In February, the first French Mirage 2000-5F multi-role jet fighter jets arrived in Ukraine.

Before arriving in Ukraine, the Mirage 2000-5F jet fighters were modified to allow the use of weapons against ground targets.

This month, the aircraft has already proven itself and shot down a Kh-101 cruise missile during a Russian massive missile and drone attack on March 7, 2025.
