The HALO Trust Ukraine has trained 600 certified humanitarian demining instructors.

The Foundation reported that the instructors were trained within the “Training of Trainers” project, which HALO Ukraine launched a year and a half ago.

Graduates of the course are rescuers, police officers, volunteers, teachers, farmers, and government employees.

They are already training people in their communities to recognize and respond to explosive threats.

Thanks to their work, over 75,000 Ukrainians have gained life-saving knowledge.

The HALO Trust is the largest humanitarian demining organization in the world, headquartered in the United Kingdom.

HALO fulfills its mission by clearing areas of landmines and other explosive ordnance, allowing people to safely rebuild their lives after conflict.

The Halo TRUST is currently active in Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Mykolaiv regions.

The organization works in Ukraine to inform the public about the risks associated with explosive ordnance, clearing territories and further transferring land to communities.

In 2023, members of the organization developed a course that provides an opportunity to gain knowledge and skills as an instructor.

After completing the course, the instructor will be able to independently conduct information sessions on mine risk in communities and raise awareness of these issues among the Ukrainian population.

In August, the National Qualifications Agency approved a new professional standard for deminers.
