In 2025, Ukraine will receive 6 RCH 155 self-propelled artillery systems
The German-French defense association KNDS (KMW+Nexter Defense Systems) will transfer the first six newest 155-mm wheeled self-propelled artillery systems, RCH 155, to Ukraine this year.
Hartpunkt reported this with reference to German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
It is worth noting that Ukraine’s plans to receive RCH 155 self-propelled artillery systems for its artillery arsenal were announced on September 17, 2022.
It was then reported that our country was interested in purchasing 18 units. Initially, Ukraine was to receive 36 RCH 155s, but the number was later increased to 54.
Later, in January 2023, it was reported that the production of these systems had begun.
In November, Militarnyi reported that KNDS plans to deliver the first RCH 155 no earlier than April 2025.
RСH 155
The RСH 155 is based on the chassis of the GTK Boxer wheeled armored personnel carrier with an 8×8 wheel configuration.
The system has an automated AGM turret artillery module with the artillery part of the German PzH 2000 self-propelled howitzer.
The AGM module is unmanned, so the crew of the RSH 155 consists of only two people. It has a 30-round ammunition capacity.
The total combat weight of the vehicle is 39 tons, and the weight of the AGM module is 12.5 tons.
