Lithuania has joined the Air Defense Coalition, which aims to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capabilities.

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda announced this.

“Glad to announce that Lithuania joins the Air Defence Capability Coalition led by Germany, France and the United States. We will contribute by providing Ukraine with mobile air surveillance radars,” Nausėda stated.

The Lithuanian President also added that military assistance for Ukraine is critical.

“Ukraine needs weapons, not promises. Let’s walk the talk,” the Lithuanian President concluded.

Militarnyi previously reported that the Lithuanian government has prepared a financial package for the purchase of radar stations for Ukraine as part of the German air defense initiative.

The €13.5 million package will provide for the purchase of appropriate radar stations that will enhance Ukraine’s radar coverage.

Four radar stations will be purchased as part of this financial package. It has not been officially reported what kind of radar model will be transferred to Ukraine.

Although the model of the radar stations to be transferred is not reported, it is highly probable that they will be RADA ieMHR.

On May 17, it was reported that the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence handed over a new batch of military aid to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It regards 5.56×45 mm rounds for small arms, drones, and counter-drone systems.

The aid package also included 100 kW generators and folding beds.
