Marines captured 11 Russian invaders, including one officer
Over the past day, the Ukrainian marines captured 11 invaders of the Russian invasion forces in battle.
The Ukrainian Marine Command reported about this.
As a result of a successful counteroffensive in the Kherson direction, Ukrainian soldiers neutralized enemy armored vehicles and personnel.
Marines captured 11 servicemen of the Russian invasion forces in the course of the hostilities. These include an officer, an ensign, and nine mobilized members of the so-called ‘DPR’.
“The captured invaders are lucky because Ukraine sticks to the norms of international law. All prisoners were handed over to the relevant authorities,” the Ukrainian Marine Corps Command stressed.
The Ukrainian Navy artillery also neutralized a Russian infantry fighting vehicle on July 31, and over 20 invaders were either killed or wounded.
In addition, soldiers of the 35th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear-Admiral Mykhailo Ostrogradskyi reported that a Russian camouflaged T-72 tank was hit with the anti-tank missiles.
The servicemen released a video featuring their combat operation:
The enemy tank, which was camouflaged at its position near the water tower, was hit by the Ukrainian-made Stugna-P ATGM.
“Russian soldiers camouflaged their T-72 tank. They hoped that it would not be noticed. And the marines not only saw the enemy’s equipment but also disabled it with the Stugna-P Ukrainian anti-tank system,” the marines said.
The video footage features the detonation of the ammunition. The turret was torn off from the Russian tank, which fell onto the body of the combat vehicle after the explosion.
Stugna-P is a second-generation Ukrainian anti-tank missile system. It was developed by the Luch Design Bureau. The system is semi-automatic and is equipped with a laser beam guidance system. The system can fire with 130mm or 152 mm caliber missiles with various warheads installed in the cargo container.
