The UK government has allocated a new military aid package for Ukraine worth £150 million.

This was announced at the beginning of a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in Brussels by British Defense Secretary John Healey, Ukrinform reports.

It is stated that the defense assistance package will include tanks, artillery systems, air-to-air missiles and other types of weapons, as well as contracts for the maintenance of previously supplied equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Today I have announced an additional £150 million for new firepower – tanks, artillery, air-to-air missiles – as well as new contracts to repair critical equipment in Ukraine,” the Defense Secretary stated.

No further details have been disclosed. The British government’s website does not yet have a press release on the matter.

Last month, Militarnyi reported that the United Kingdom signed contracts with two companies to manufacture artillery barrels for Ukraine worth £61m.

Previously, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced the delivery of 150 artillery pieces to Ukraine in the coming weeks. This is the first time in 20 years that weapons have been manufactured in the UK.

Sheffield Forgemasters is capable of producing the largest and most technically complex cast and forged steel parts in the world.

Back in early July 2024, the UK announced that it would provide Ukraine with new barrels for the AS-90 self-propelled howitzers as part of military assistance.

The AS-90 is equipped with the 155mm L31A1 gun with a barrel length of 39 caliber, manufactured by BAE Systems Global Combat Systems.

As previously reported, the Ukrainian Defense Forces would receive the Gravehawk air defense system, which was developed in the UK in a short time specifically for Ukraine’s needs.
