More Than 200 Samples of Vehicles Were Approved for Use in Armed Forces of Ukraine
In 2024, more than 200 new models of vehicles were put into service in the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported on this.
These are vehicles that the Ukrainian military needs to perform a wide range of tasks.
About 50% of the automotive novelties codified last year for the Defense Forces are of domestic production.
The Main Directorate of Support for the Lifecycle of Weapons and Military Equipment emphasizes that this is many times more than in the previous two years.
Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Dmytro Klimenkov said that the codified models included, among others, light tactical vehicles, pickup trucks, technical assistance vehicles, mobile workshops, and logistics vehicles.
As well as other vehicles manufactured by Ukrainian and foreign automotive companies. In particular, MAN, Iveco, Scania, Volvo, DAF, Peugeot, Toyota, Mitsubishi, etc.
Among the codified vehicles are modern electric and gasoline motorcycles, ATVs, hexacycles, all-terrain buggies and amphibians.
As for certain models of wheeled vehicles that were approved for use in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, last year the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine announced the codification of the domestic Oncilla-Shturm wheeled armored vehicle, which is designed to perform a wide range of tasks.
The vehicle can be produced in several modifications and can accommodate three crew members and a landing party of six soldiers.
Also, the Argo Aurora multifunctional all-terrain amphibious vehicle, which can be used to move through difficult terrain, was codified for the needs of the Ukrainian defense. The all-terrain vehicle can also overcome water obstacles and swampy areas.
The Ukrainian armored vehicle UAT-TISA, which can be used by the military to perform a wide range of tasks, has also been approved for use in the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Depending on the objectives, the vehicle is equipped with additional devices and equipment.
