The Moldovan Border Police found another wreckage of the Russian Shahed (Geran) kamikaze drone in the country’s border region.

The Moldovan Border Police reported on this.

The wreckage of the Russian drone was found near the village of Etulia Nouă, which is less than two kilometers from the border with Odesa region.

The information about the wreckage was quickly relayed to the appropriate authorities, and access to the area where the fragments were found was restricted.

The wreckage of the Geran drone was found in a field about 2 kilometers from the Moldovan-Ukrainian border and about 5 kilometers from the village.

The photos published by Moldovan border guards suggest that the warhead of the Russian kamikaze drone has detonated.

This is evidenced by the crater that formed after the explosion and the torn fragments of the fuselage and parts of the drone, which are scattered at a great distance from each other.

Border guards emphasize that the authorities are taking all necessary measures to maintain order, peace, and public safety, and there is no danger to the community.

As previously reported, on February 12, 2024, the wreckage of the Russian Geran drone was found on the territory of Moldova.

This is not the first time that Russian munitions have fallen in Moldova.

In October 2022, a Russian cruise missile fell in the area of the Moldovan settlement of Naslavcea, near the border with Ukraine. Due to the fall of the missile, detached houses were damaged.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova reported that the Russian missile had been shot down by Ukrainian air defense.
