The NATO Parliamentary Assembly has adopted a resolution calling for the provision of long-range missiles to Ukraine.

This was done during a plenary session in Montreal, Canada, on Monday, November 25.

The resolution’s authors also note the need to increase military, financial, and humanitarian support for Ukraine.

And to ensure timely delivery of ammunition and modern weapons systems to the Ukrainian army.

The resolution called for strengthening the sanctions policy against Russia and North Korea (DPRK) to increase the price for their cooperation in the aggression against Ukraine.

In addition, members of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly called for the Ukrainian Defense Forces to be provided with long-range weapons.

“We call … also for Ukraine to be provided with all means, including medium-range missiles, to defend itself and deter further aggression,” the members of the Parliamentary Assembly emphasized.

The resolution does not specify what kind of “intermediate-range” missiles are meant.

Secretary General Mark Rutte calls on the allies to lift or ease restrictions on Ukraine’s use of Western weapons to strike at Russian territory.

NATO Acting Deputy Secretary General Boris Ruge emphasized this during a session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.

Currently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are using French-British Storm Shadow/SCALP EG long-range air-to-ground missiles, as well as American ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles. Recently, they have also been used to strike military targets directly on the territory of Russia.

In September, there were reports that the United States was considering providing Ukraine with air-launched cruise missiles AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM). In October, it was reported that the Pentagon supported the transfer of these missiles. However, there is currently no official information on the matter.
