Nearly Half of Ternopil Defense Forces Applicants Are Women

Ternopil, Chernivtsi, and Chernihiv regions are leading in terms of the number of women among candidates for the Ukrainian Defense Forces who have applied to recruitment centers.

The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on this.

It is reported that in the Ternopil region, 48% of all those wishing to join the Defense Forces are women. This is followed by the Chernivtsi region (44%), and the Chernihiv region (39%).

The Defense Ministry details that, on average, the share of women in the country willing to join the army is 19% of all candidates in recruitment centers.

As of April 2024, more than 5,000 women were on the front line, most of them in the Ground Forces.

As of April 1, 67,285 women served in the Armed Forces, of whom 47,569 were military servicewomen.

Recruitment in Ukraine

Recently, on November 4, it was reported that more than 23,000 people have already received consultations at recruitment centers for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Of these, 5,797 candidates have begun the process of selecting positions and enrolling in the Defense Forces.

The Ministry of Defense detailed that the Kharkiv (16.7%) and Dnipropetrovs’k region (15.5%) were among the most active regions, as were Kyiv city (14.9%), Zaporizhzhia (12.2%), and Lviv (12.2%).

Currently, more than 10,000 vacancies are available at 44 recruitment centers across the country. The most popular positions include drivers, UAV operators, staff and medical personnel.

A recruitment service is also available in the Reserve+ app. The app contains detailed job descriptions, including information about the brigades, their command, achievements and media coverage.

The intuitive interface enables quick decision-making: clicking ‘plus’ saves an offer for further review, while clicking ‘minus’ dismisses it.
