A new MR.5100 Ukrainian mechanized demining machine was presented at the Demine Ukraine forum.

Militarnyi reports on this.

The MP.5100 was developed in Kharkiv and took about a year to complete. It is built on the basis of modern domestic equipment.

The machine is designed to destroy all types of mines by destroying or detonating them in the soil at a depth of up to 30 cm. For this purpose, the remote-controlled tracked machine’s working tool can be equipped with a rotating chain device with hammers or a cutter.

The average operating speed is between 0.5 and 1.5 km per hour, depending on the soil type. The width of the clearing lane is 2.5 m.

The MR.5100 weighs up to 17 tons. The machine has a 320-horsepower engine and consumes about 55 liters of fuel per hour. The machine can operate on a single full fuel tank for at least four hours.

An operator can control the machine remotely from a distance of at least 350 meters.

The Kharkiv Regional Military Administration recently reported that the MR.5100 costs about EUR 450 thousand. They also noted that its repair and maintenance will be cheaper and more efficient because its spare parts and components are manufactured in Ukraine.

According to the developers, the machine has already passed factory tests and proved to be very efficient. In early 2025, the manufacturer plans to certify this demining machine. In the future, it expects to produce three to four MR.5100 units per month.

Remotely operated soil preparation machines for demining MR.3200, also made in Kharkiv, are already in use in Ukraine.

Demining

During a speech at the Demine Ukraine forum, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that almost 70 mine action operators are currently working on demining in Ukraine: more than 4,000 sappers and more than 150 pieces of equipment.

Almost 35.5 thousand square kilometers of Ukrainian land have already been returned to operation. The potentially mined area today is about 139 thousand square kilometers.
