Norway Allocates €300 Million to Buy Weapons from Ukraine’s Defense Industry
The Norwegian government will allocate NOK 3.5 billion (€300 million) for the purchase of military equipment for Ukraine from the Ukrainian defense industry.
This was reported on the Norwegian government’s website.
In addition, Norway is allocating an additional NOK 600 million (€51.5 million) for the purchase of various types of drones and financing the development of unmanned technologies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Every day for the past three years, the Ukrainian people have been fighting for their freedom. They are fighting not only for Ukraine, but also for the security of Europe as a whole, for a world order based on international law and democratic values. In order to support Ukraine’s resilience, it is very important that Norway and other countries continue and increase their support for Ukraine,” said Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.

As the Prime Minister emphasized, the scale of military and civilian needs in Ukraine is enormous. Therefore, it is vital to strengthen the ability of the Ukrainian defense industry to supply military equipment to the front.
“By purchasing military equipment directly from Ukraine, we are helping to increase the country’s production capacity, which is an important component of our military support,” Jonas Gahr Støresaid.
Norway has previously purchased weapons directly from the Ukrainian industry. In November 2024, Norway allocated NOK 500 million ($45 million) to finance the production of weapons by Ukrainian enterprises.
In addition to providing funding, the Norwegian authorities will work with Norwegian companies to develop a Norwegian-Ukrainian partnership to share technology and experience. According to the Prime Minister, this is something that both Ukraine and Norwegian industry are interested in.

To this end, a large Norwegian business delegation recently visited Ukraine. The delegation, in cooperation with the Norwegian authorities, explored opportunities to support and cooperate with the Ukrainian defense industry.
In addition, the Norwegian government has created a special scheme for 2025 to reduce risks for Norwegian companies seeking to invest in or export to Ukraine.
The additional NOK 600 million for the purchase of various types of drones and the development of drone technology for the Ukrainian Armed Forces is in addition to the recent purchase of 700 million drones as part of the Drone Coalition, which Norway joined in mid-February 2025.
In total, in 2025, the Norwegian government plans to provide Ukraine with military assistance worth about €2 billion and about €1 billion in humanitarian support.
