Russian Aerospace Forces organized a new field airstrip near the Ukrainian border.

The field airstrip is deployed near the Russian city of Volokonovka, in the Belgorod region.

Geolocation of the Russian temporary base is about 30 km northwest of the Valuyka landfill of Belgorod region.

The base is used by helicopters of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

In particular, the Russian military uses the airfield for Mi-26 helicopters.

This heavy multi-role transport helicopter is designed to transport cargo on an external load or inside a cargo compartment weighing up to 20 tons.
