Pictures of destroyed Russian aircraft at Crimean airbase published on social media
The first satellite images of the Russian air base in Crimea after the explosions have been released to the public.
Satellite images showcased a significant amount of destroyed military aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
At the base near Novofedorivka, the Russians mainly stationed Su-30SM multi-role fighters, Su-24MR tactical reconnaissance, Il-76 military airlifter and other planes.
The 43rd Fighter Regiment of the Russian Aerospace Forces is based at the airbase.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that potentially about 10 Russian combat aircraft were destroyed at the base.
Evidently the aviation weapons storage was hit, if take into account the explosions’ photos, and the fact of serious detonation.
It is also likely that the explosions in Novofedorivka in the occupied Crimea could have occurred due to the actions of Ukrainian special forces and resistance groups.
Occupied Crimea became for Russia not only a bridgehead for the offensive from the south by ground forces, but also a convenient base for air raids.
From Novofedorivka flew aircraft that launched missile attacks on Ukraine, in particular anti-radiation missiles to suppress Ukrainian air defense.
Here are located at least two large military air bases, which the Russian Federation actively uses in the war against Ukraine.
One of the key air bases for Russian aviation in the occupied Crimea is located near the city of Novofedorivka.
It was ready for immediate hostilities before the start of a full-scale offensive.
