Police Battalion Joins Front Line in Donetsk Region

A newly formed rifle battalion from the Donetsk region’s Special Forces Police has been deployed to the front line to carry out combat missions.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the Donetsk region reported this development.

The Special Police Battalion includes officers of various services: operatives, investigators, district officers, etc.

All the volunteers have experience working under bombardment, and some have been involved in combat operations since 2014. The police officers joined the unit to defend Ukraine and liberate their land from the invaders.

The policemen were trained by instructors from the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine.

They’ve been tained at a training ground in conditions close to combat.

Azov soldiers provided instruction in firearms, artillery, tactics, medical training, aerial reconnaissance, and drone operation. Additionally, the law enforcement officers received training in engineering and explosives.

The training ended with a combat drill. Ruslan Osypenko, Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Donetsk Oblast, handed over the unit’s official flag. The flag, along with the officers’ chevrons, features the terricones and the sun, symbolizing the Donetsk region.

“I am proud of each and every one of you, your dedication, courage and patriotism. Hardened in body and spirit, you go to battle at the call of your heart. Let’s hold the line. Glory to Ukraine!” Ruslan Osypenko addressed the Special Forces servicemen.

The Main Directorate of the National Police in the Donetsk region reminded that other police units in the region, including the Rapid Operational Response Unit, continue to perform tasks as part of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
