Poroshenko Foundation Donates Trucks, UAVs and Airsoft Assault Rifles to Ukrainian Armed Forces
Donors have donated a batch of H10 Poseidon UAVs, special trucks, and airsoft rifles to the Ukrainian Defense Forces for training.
The Petro Poroshenko Foundation, the NGO Sprava Hromad, and the European Solidarity political party raised funds to help the military.
One of the training centers and a mechanized brigade received two Poseidon drones.
The systems include mobile control posts based on DAF trucks.
Such drones can fly far behind enemy lines and find artillery and equipment.
“It has very good telemetry and radio signals. It performs very well over long distances. At the same time, it has powerful engines that allow it to fly at high speed in strong winds,” the military said.
One system includes three drones and a car. Three more systems will arrive in Ukraine by the end of this year.
The cost of this batch of equipment handed over to the military is over €800,000. Part of the funds was allocated by the community of Zhytomyr, and the rest was paid by the Poroshenko Foundation and volunteers of the NGO Sprava Hromad.
DAF YA
The European Solidarity political party also financed the purchase of DAF YA trucks for paratroopers worth almost UAH 30 million. The military received six trucks and six bath and laundry modules.
These vehicles are even more powerful than DAF Leyland, which donors are already actively sending to the military.
“The vehicle is equipped with a crane for Ukrainian artillery, it loads 155-mm rounds, does it very quickly and effectively supplies artillery with ammunition,” Petro Poroshenko said.
The DAF YA trucks were found and purchased at NATO depots in the Netherlands and Belgium.
AK-74 airsoft assault rifles
Petro Poroshenko also purchased a batch of CYMA CM.040C airsoft rifles for the training center of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.
The CM040C is a very accurate airsoft replica of the AK-74M assault rifle, which comes with firing balls. The weight of the CM040C is almost the same as that of the AK-74M.
The CM040C is equipped with a 3rd version of the Cyma hillbox. Out of the box, the drive produces a shot power of 130 m/s with a 0.2 gram ball.
The Ukrainian Air Assault Forces plan to use airsoft to train cadets in conditions close to reality and simulate various situations.
“My good friend Oleksandr Pohrebysky and the Kupol commander asked me to bring them these rifles. They are a must-have for training exercises. We have brought 30 of them with us, as well as batteries and protective equipment,” Petro Poroshenko noted.
As previously reported, Ukrainian volunteers are actively implementing a project to create mobile car repair shops for the military with Leyland DAF.
