Russia launches production of FPV drones at a bakery
Russia has set up production of FPV drones at a bread factory for the war with Ukraine.
At the same time, drones are produced simultaneously with bakery products.
A video from the enterprise was published on a Russian propaganda channel.
The production of drones was organized by the Tambov Bakery at the request of the Russian army.
The first reports about the launch of FPV production at this enterprise were spread by the Russian media in March this year.
This drone was named Bekas (Common snipe), allegedly in honor of a bird. It is stated that the development was carried out by technical specialists of the bakery, and they assembled them in a separate room.
For the production of FPV drones, they have purchased some parts, as well as 3D printers, which are used to print parts for attaching payloads, namely: cameras, antennas, and ammunition drop systems.
As of March 2023, Russian propaganda claimed that the Tambov bread factory was producing 200 drones per month at an average cost of $450.
The drones can fly at a speed of 65 km/h with a single battery charge lasting for 15 minutes of operation. In each kit, a spare battery is additionally supplied to the Russian invaders.
The volume of current production of FPV drones at this bakery is unknown.
FPV drones: weapons that changed the modern war
It is worth noting that the Russians, after pouring large sums of money into their military–industrial complex, have launched mass production of FPVs of various types and models. Now the invaders can use thousands of such drones at the front against Ukrainian defenders.
