Russia reports powerful explosion near arsenal in the Bryansk region
On the night of Tuesday, November 19, a powerful explosion occurred near a large arsenal in the city of Karachev, Bryansk region of Russia.
The ASTRA Telegram channel reported on this, citing local residents. Video footage captured by eyewitnesses shows the fire and sounds of detonation.
Before the explosion, a missile threat was announced in the Bryansk region. A siren was sounding in the region.
Residents of the city of Karachev, Bryansk region, reported all night long in local forums about explosions, detonations, and an attack on a military base.
However, local authorities reported only a UAV attack. The governor of the region reported that eight drones were shot down on Tuesday morning.
In the morning, the Ukrainian General Staff confirmed the strike on the Russian depot last night.
The military said that on the night of November 19, 2024, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, inflicted a fire attack on the arsenal of the 1046th logistics center near the city of Karachev, Bryansk region of the Russian Federation.
As of 02:30 a.m. that night, 12 secondary explosions and detonations were recorded in the target area, the Armed Forces General Staff noted.
“The destruction of ammunition depots for the army of the Russian invaders to stop the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine will continue,” the statement reads.
The 67th Arsenal is located in close proximity to the city of Karachev and 115 km from the Russian-Ukrainian border.
The Russian Ministry of Defense uses the facility to store artillery shells, anti-aircraft missiles, and rockets for multiple launch rocket systems.
The previous attack on the warehouse took place on the morning of October 9, 2024. Then, according to official sources, 12 attack drones were involved in the attack.
