Russian Drone Hits Kyiv Building Housing Estonian Ambassador
During the shelling on November 7, a Russian drone hit the apartment building in Kyiv where the Estonian Ambassador lives.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated that Ambassador Annely Kolk was not injured.
“No one is safe in Ukraine until Russia stops its aggression. Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defense to protect its people. We should not get used to this,” said Margus Tsahkna.
On the night of November 7, Russia attacked Kyiv with dozens of loitering munitions.
An air raid alert was announced in the capital at 1:17 am. Later, air defense was reported to be working.
The wreckage of the downed drones fell in Holosiivskyi, Solomianskyi, Pecherskyi, Obolonskyi and Podilskyi districts.
In the Holosiivskyi district, a drone damaged apartments in a residential building.
Nearby, a service station on the territory of a garage cooperative was on fire.
In Pechersk district, a drone caused a fire in a restaurant on the 33rd floor of a high-rise residential building.
The building also suffered partial destruction of structures on the 31st floor. There was heavy smoke.
The Kyiv City Military Administration later reported that following the fire on the 33rd floor, parts of the building structure on the 34th technical floor were partially destroyed over an area of 50 square meters. Ambassador Annely Kolk resided in this building.
In February, it became known how much Shahed-136 drones cost for Russia.
