The Russian military instructors are training future soldiers for trench warfare and hand-to-hand combat with drones.

The Russian Ministry of Defense released footage of the training.

The Russian military grouping of troops “Center” demonstrated the peculiarities of combat training of fighters, which, in addition to basic tactical skills, also include methods of defense against FPV drones.

The recruits practice the deceptive movements and rolls away from the diving drone, as well as striking them with an assault rifle.

The commander of a training company wearing the “Heroes Do Not Die” chevron said it would help them in real combat:

“We had a training session with the UAV. Changing positions, turning, running, moving. The military personnel will know what a kamikaze drone is, what a drone is, their sound… How to hide from a drone and how to shoot it down,” he said.

In addition to the above-mentioned skills, the soldiers are also trained to conduct assaults on trenches and fortifications as part of the tactical groups: proper movement, changing positions. In addition, they are trained to fight in wooded areas and urban areas.

“The training lasts for a month around the clock. During this time, each serviceman practices his actions until they are automatic, and only after completing the full course of training he goes to the front line to perform tasks,” said the commander of the training company.

Russia trains the army of Laos

Along with the training of their own military, the Russians also reported on the training of the Lao People’s Armed Forces soldiers who arrived in Russia in September for the Laros-2024 exercise.

Under the guidance of the Russian instructors, the Laotian military learned how to clear settlements “taking into account the experience gained during the war against Ukraine”.

In particular, the video showed preparations for an assault on positions by tactical groups on motorcycles, ATVs, and buggies with the support of drones.

Militarnyi previously reported that the Russian Black Sea Fleet was training to use FPV drones from a helicopter to counter Ukrainian naval drones.
