Ukraine has received six mine clearance vehicles from Japan, which are currently being deployed in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported on this.

In total, Japan will donate 22 mine clearance vehicles modernized by the Japanese company Nikken to the needs of sapper teams.

The transferred Nikken BM307-V16 vehicles are an upgraded version of the Hitachi ZX160 excavator, which has been given the opportunity to use the equipment for demining.

The 16-ton vehicle can be equipped with a special HT80 mine clearance device with 31 “teeth” for effective mine detonation.

A high-speed rotary cutter plunges about 30 centimeters into the ground, detonating and defusing anti-personnel mines.

The excavator type of such equipment can clear approximately 400 to 800 square meters of minefield per hour.

In addition, it is possible to change the working tool to a conventional excavation bucket, hydraulic shears, hydraulic hammer, mulcher, etc.

It should be noted that in addition to the transfer of this equipment, Japan also provides training for Ukrainian specialists.

The training takes place at the Cambodian Mine Action Center.

Militarnyi previously reported that the Japan International Cooperation Agency ordered equipment for humanitarian demining from Ukrainian manufacturers.

In particular, the Japanese agency ordered the production of 12 mini buses from Cherkasy Bus. They will be delivered to the SES in November this year.
