SOF Operation: soldiers destroy a platoon of Russians during a raid on an industrial area

Operators of the 3rd separate regiment of the Special Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a platoon of Russians during a raid on an industrial area in the Donetsk sector.

The Special Operations Forces Command press service reported on this on Facebook.

The operation to eliminate the Russians started after their positions and activity were detected in the industrial zone in the Donetsk sector.

The operation took place in two stages.

Initially, drones were responsible for eliminating the enemy, detecting and destroying Russians both in shelters and in buildings where they were hiding.

The second stage involved the military’s direct participation in the raid. For this purpose, HMMWV armored vehicles armed with 12.7 mm Browning heavy machine guns were allocated.

The group raided all the buildings in the industrial zone, which prevented the enemy from organizing a defense and eliminated them. According to the command, they managed to capture one Russian, which allowed them to obtain important information about the deployment of troops.

After the raid, the special forces successfully left the industrial zone and returned to the territory controlled by the Defense Forces. It should be noted that the armored vehicles were equipped with anti-drone protection above the shooter’s nest.

The protection complements the high level of ballistic protection of the STANAG 4569 L2/3 vehicle and can withstand close bursts of artillery shells and, in some cases, anti-tank grenade launchers.

Militarnyi previously reported that operatives of the Separate Center for Special Operations “East” (3rd Regiment) successfully cleared a forest belt, destroyed a concrete dugout, and broke through to the mine administration near Pokrovsk.

According to the press service, during the special operation, the soldiers quietly entered the forest belt, from where the enemy controlled the approaches to the seized industrial facility, and cleared the territory.

During the battle, six Russian servicemen were eliminated. The Ukrainian military also discovered a fortified concrete dugout and destroyed it using 15 kilograms of explosives.

The powerful blast caused the ceiling to collapse, leaving no survivors. The assault took place in Kotlyne, Donetsk region.
