Soldiers of Lyut Brigade destroy a seized building in Toretsk

In Toretsk, soldiers of the Lyut Brigade stormed a building and blew it up to hinder the advance of Russian troops in the city.

The Enei Battalion, which is a part of the assault brigade of the National Police of Ukraine, conducted an operation to capture a tactically important building in an uncontrolled part of the city, which was valuable to invaders’ advanced units.

A group of soldiers in two Roshel Senator armored vehicles broke through to a five-story building and stormed it. The sappers mined it and conducted a controlled explosion, “blowing up” several entrances.

The destroyed building is located in the central part of the city on Druzhba Street, 24A, where a dense urban structure is located, along which heavy urban battles take place.

The building explosion is likely intended to open up the right flank of the Russian Armed Forces’ assault troops for direct fire and prevent them from gaining a foothold.

It is worth noting that, according to the videos of the fighting, soldiers of the special units of the National Police are controlling houses in the neighboring block, 200-300 meters from the destroyed five-story building.

On September 20, soldiers of the Tsunami Regiment, Safari Regiment, Luhansk Assault Regiment and Enei Battalion cleared and took control of the nine-story buildings marked in yellow on the map.

These are some of few buildings of this height in the city, so their maintenance allows Armed Forces of Ukraine to visually control most of the city.

Later, on September 24, mortar launchers from the Safari Regiment hit a group of Russian invaders moving toward high-rise buildings, which suggests that this part of the city is controlled by the Russians.

It can be assumed that at this stage of the fighting, the Russian invaders are trying to penetrate the defense as much as possible and gain a foothold in the high-rise buildings for further expansion.

As previously reported, operators of the 93rd Mechanized Brigade’s interceptor drones shot down fifty enemy reconnaissance drones in the Toretsk sector in a short time.
