Soldiers of the 14th Mechanized Brigade destroyed two Russian Msta howitzers with FPV drones
Servicemen of the 14th Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great destroyed two Russian 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzers.
Volunteer and blogger Serhiy Sternenko announced this in his social media.
The video clearly shows the damage and detonation of the first Msta and the burning of the ammunition of the second self-propelled howitzer.
Thanks to Oryx’s OSINT resource, it is reported that since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war, the Russians have lost at least 135 2S19 Msta-S destroyed and 35 captured.
In addition, about 18 newer versions of the 2S33 Msta-SM2 were reported destroyed and 16 captured.
In early January, Militarnyi reported the destruction of 8 invaders’ artillery systems near temporarily occupied Donetsk.
The military of the 59th Motorized Brigade and the Shadow of Ukraine unit demonstrated this combat mission in this area.
Initially, three Russian 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled artillery installations were successfully targeted. Following that, three BM-21 Grad multiple launch rocket systems and one BM-27 Uragan MRL were also struck.
On the opposite side of the city, along the road between Donetsk and Makiivka, a 2S4 Tyulpan 240mm self-propelled mortar was effectively neutralized.
At the end of January, it was reported that Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu admitted the failure of the plan to increase artillery production.
Shoigu stated this during a visit to the Ural Plant of Transport Engineering (Uraltransmash).
During the inspection, he criticized Oleg Emelyanov, the company’s CEO, for delaying the deadlines.
Shoigu pointed out that the Russian president had instructed him to increase the production of self-propelled artillery. He demanded that Uraltransmash’s management provide him with a report within a week on how they plan to reach the targets.
