Special Operations Forces receive attack drones within the framework of the “Lightning of the Special Operations Forces” project

The Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation has supplied the first crew of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Darts attack drones and electronic warfare equipment as part of the “Lightning of the Special Operations Forces” project.

The Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation reported this on its Facebook page.

Ukrainian-made attack drones are designed to effectively engage enemy targets at a 40-50 km distance.

“The first crew of “Lightning” is already with the Special Operations Forces! Thanks to your donations, we have purchased and delivered the first set to the SOF,” Prytula wrote.

A mobile fire group of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received:

• a pickup truck
• 42 Darts UAVs;
• a generator and a charging station;
• Starlink;
• electronic warfare systems.

Fundraising for the “Lightning of the Special Operations Forces” project was launched in early December 2024. The cost of equipping one crew is UAH 3 million.

The project partners are the WOG gas station chain and WINNER, which transferred UAH 1 million each and provided the prize fund.

“The fundraising is ongoing, and you still have a chance to win a powerful Mustang from Winner partners and tons of quality fuel from WOG partners for a UAH 500 or more donation,” Prytula emphasized.

The Darts kamikaze drones, which will be delivered to the soldiers of the Special Operations Forces mobile fire groups, are already being used by the Ukrainian military against the Russian invaders on the front line.

They cost about USD 1 thousand per unit and are provided by charitable foundations.

It is reported that the Ukrainian manufacturer’s Darts attack UAVs are based on FPV drone components and can fly at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour over a distance of 40-50 km. They are equipped with a warhead weighing 4 kilograms.

The Darts drone is equipped with a single engine in the nose and has a wingspan of 1.9 meters and a fuselage length of 1.5 meters.
