SSU destroyed Russian Buk SAM and guides HIMARS at MRL

The Security Service of Ukraine conducted an operation to destroy a Russian Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system and targeted the MRL with HIMARS.

A video of the destruction of the enemy equipment was published on the SSU’s official Telegram page.

During one of the combat missions, SSU officers detected an enemy Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system in a firing position.

Defenders used a Switchblade 600 loitering munition that successfully destroyed the Russian system.

It should be noted that the Buk-M3 is the most modern version that uses missiles with an active homing head, which has significantly increased their effectiveness on the battlefield.

The system is built on a radically different element base, which makes it very different from older versions. In addition, the system has 12 9R31M missiles ready to fire.

In addition to the SAM, SSU officers also targeted a HIMARS missile system at a hangar housing a Russian MLRS based on the MTLB.

The Russian rocket launcher used guides from a Grad MLRS and was most likely upgraded in the field.

In addition, over the past week, the Security Service’s Special Forces of the Group “Alpha” used attack drones and other firepower to hit:

• 6 tanks
• 18 armored personnel carriers
• 19 artillery systems
• 3 air defense systems
• 204 vehicles
• 39 UAVs
• 128 enemy fortifications and firing positions
• 6 ammunition depots and 1 with fuel and lubricants

160 invaders were also destroyed.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had destroyed a rare Russian Uragan multiple rocket launcher system on the chassis of a BAZ truck.

The enemy multiple rocket launcher system was destroyed by joint efforts of the M2 team of the “Alpha” Group of the SSU and army UAV pilots from the “Fight Club 92” of the 92nd Separate Mechanised Brigade.
