SSU thwarts invaders’ assault

Alpha Group soldiers thwarted the invaders’ assault by attacking a convoy with Russian manpower using FPV drones.

The video was published on SSU’s account on social media X.

According to the Alpha Group, due to the timely detection and destruction of the enemy convoy, one of the Russian invaders’ assaults was thwarted.

In particular, the video captured the destruction of a convoy of pickup trucks that were moving forward to assault, as well as individual vehicles and motorcycles, trucks, and enemy manpower.

Due to the good controllability of the FPV drones and the skill of the pilots, the vehicles were hit in the area of the cab. This made it possible to stop the convoy and continue the attack on the immobilized vehicles.

Of particular interest is the footage of a car being hit by FPV, which is equipped with a multi-channel electronic warfare system to protect against FPV drones. This once again emphasizes the complexity of countering kamikaze drones and the high dynamism of electronic warfare.

The work of the Alpha Group of the SSU on the front line

Special forces from the SSU’s Center for Special Operations to Combat Terrorism, Protect Participants in Criminal Proceedings, and Law Enforcement Officers (Alpha Group) usually engage in the destruction of important equipment deep behind enemy lines using drones.

For example, in two weeks in October-November 2024, they struck 16 Grad rocket systems. To destroy them, the soldiers used FPV strike drones.

In early October, the destruction of the self-propelled launcher of Buk-M3 and Buk-M1 systems was shown.

The Buk-M3 was detected by a reconnaissance UAV, judging by its characteristic interface, probably a Shark, and hit by a kamikaze drone.

A Shark UAV also detected the Buk-M1, and although the munition was not shown, the video captures the detonation of rocket fuel from anti-aircraft missiles and a fire.

In addition, the video showed the destruction of the Giatsint-S self-propelled gun, the MSTA-S self-propelled howitzer, and the destruction and damage to several tanks and armored combat vehicles.
