The Armed Forces of Ukraine are using 155-mm high-explosive rocket-assisted ammunition.
The Deep State Telegram channel reported about this and posted a picture of this ammunition with inscriptions of Ukrainian cities.
“M549 is already in position. The photo shows the high-explosive rocket ammunition for 40 km,” wrote the authors of the statement.
The day before, on May 4, 2022, Yuriy Biryukov, a former adviser to the Minister of Defense mentioned that he had already witnessed the deployment of the M777 howitzers.
“To witness a working M777 howitzer with our crew – done. Beautiful… Loud… Oh, the report came back – accurate… ”– said Biryukov.
The M549 is a high-explosive rocket-assisted (HERA) 155-mm howitzer ammunition.
Its weight is 43.5 kg. The weight of the warhead is 6.8 to 7.26 kg, depending on the type.
The rocket motor of the projectile allows shooting at a distance of up to 40 km, depending on the exact howitzer used.
