The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from Lebanon, where the security situation has sharply deteriorated.

The DIU reported on this.

On Saturday, August 3, a group of 30 Ukrainian citizens arrived in Poland, from where they will go to Ukraine.

The DIU expressed gratitude to SkyUp Airlines, which provided an airplane to transport the Ukrainians.

“Our compatriots, including 21 women and nine children, have already arrived in Rzeszow, Poland, and are safe. They were met by Ukrainian consuls and Defence Intelligence of Ukraine representatives – the evacuees are being provided with all the necessary assistance and escorted to our country,” the statement said.

The DIU noted that Ukraine was one of the first countries in the world to successfully evacuate its citizens from Lebanon.

Ukrainian diplomats warned our citizens in Lebanon about the danger and recommended they leave the country in advance.

The DIU noted that it continues working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help Ukrainian citizens in Lebanon.

They added that work is underway to further evacuate other Ukrainians who wish to leave Lebanon.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine previously recommended that Ukrainians refrain from any trips to Israel and leave the territory of Lebanon and Israel until the security situation in the Middle East stabilizes.

This is due to Iran promising to attack Israel in response to the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. And Israel, in turn, is preparing to counter this, and possibly strike back.

Recently, a new, previously unknown mobile anti-aircraft missile system on a truck chassis was spotted in the Iranian capital.
