The SSU cleared a large underground military facility in the Kursk region

The soldiers of the Security Service of Ukraine neutralized a large number of Russian soldiers while clearing an underground communications network in the Kursk region.

The footage of the facility was published by the 1+1 TV channel.

The Ukrainian military discovered an extensive network of underground communications in the Kursk region, connecting a number of well-protected concrete underground facilities and a company stronghold of the 488th Guards Motor Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces.

The soldiers of the Special Group “Alpha” cleared the underground facility and neutralized the Russian soldiers who refused to surrender.

According to the traces of the fire, the work of the special forces in gas masks, and the position of the bodies of the Russians, some of them died of carbon monoxide poisoning.

It was reported that the company’s fortified stronghold with all communications was completely hidden underground. It was electrified and connected to other underground living quarters, a canteen, weapons storage, a bathhouse, and a toilet.

Significant stocks of food, weapons, and ammunition were found at the facility, which the military could have used in a circular defense.

The soldiers who got into it released footage of an extensive network of underground corridors and rooms.

Soldiers of the Security Service of Ukraine also captured 102 soldiers of the 488th Guards Motor Rifle Regiment, including conscripts.

The video shows that the military also reported the capture of an unspecified number of soldiers of the Akhmat unit.

Ukrainian combat medics provided first aid to the wounded Russian soldiers and prepared them for deployment to the rear.

As previously reported, Russian general Alexander Lapin, commander of Russia’s North group of troops, is currently leading the defense of the Kursk region. In 2022, he was also in charge of the defense of the occupied parts of the Kharkiv region, where the most powerful defense failures occurred near Balakliia, Lyman, and Izium.
